It takes a lot of love…

to tend these gardens. Each summer, this home is magically transformed with hundreds of flowering plants that surround the house, fill the side yards, and even cover the hill behind the property. In July, the owners open their home for a garden tour, which attracts people from all over the area.

When it rains, the owners cover the flowers with umbrellas to protect their fragile blossoms.  I’ve always wanted to get a picture of the umbrellas, but have never been able to get there when it wasn’t pouring rain. Today I got lucky – the rain stopped for a while and I stood across the street and got a few quick shots between passing cars.
